Passport Updation on OCI Card

1. OCI cardholders are required to update their passport details in their OCI records each time a new passport is issued.
2. Queries have been received from applicants seeking clarification on whether they may travel to or from India while their passport updation application is finally acknowledged in the system.

3. It is clarified that, there will be no restriction on the OCI cardholder to travel to/from India during the period from the date of issue of the new passport till the date of final acknowledgement of his/her document in the online system.
4. OCI cardholders applying for passport updation are advised to take note of the above clarification.
