Consular Counter Timings

Owing to the growing spread of COVID19, it has been decided to stop the walk-in Miscellaneous Consular Services at the Embassy of India with effect from March 16, 2020. The services will continue to be provided through Postal mail/shipping.

For submission of Miscellaneous Service/Attestation of Documents:

Miscellaneous Services are delivered normally according to the dates given during the time of submission except in cases where references are required to be made to other Missions or Regional Passport Offices  in India.

  • The embassy is not responsible for documents/applications lost by postal mail and there is no emergency service in case where documents are sent by postal mail.

  • Outstation applicants may send their application forms to their respective Embassy/Consulates by postal mail.

  • The documents received by various categories of mail like FedEx, Airborne, Certified mail, Registered mail, Express mail , Regular mail etc are treated at par. Applicants must send documents by using a mailing service with acknowledgment/confirmation of delivery facilities.

  • For applications sent by post, Fee should be paid by Cashier's Check/Certified Check or Money Order made payable to the Embassy of India, Washington, DC.

  • Personal Cheques/Credit Card/Cash are not accepted for Mailed-In applications.
