The National Testing Agency (NTA) is a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization established to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions in India. It has been conducting JEE (Main) since January 2019, for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B.Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. JEE (Main) is also an Eligibility Test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. The Paper-2 of the JEE (Main) is also conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the Country.

Keeping in view the interests of students from the Indian diaspora, it has been decided by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to include Washington DC as an Exam City for holding JEE (Main) 2022 Examination. Accordingly, the last date for submission of application (through the Website https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/) has been extended to 05.05.2022, to facilitate the aspiring candidates from Indian diaspora in the USA.
