The Embassy of India in Washington DC invites applications for the following positions from the applicants who are either US citizens or permanent residents with valid appropriate visa and valid work permit:-

 

Marketing Assistant

      Required Skills

  • A University Degree or equivalent qualification preferably in Business & Marketing/commercial law;
  • Knowledge of International Trade Issues, including Intellectual Property Rights;
  • Adequate experience in inter-disciplinary analysis of trade and commerce vis-à-vis international political developments;
  • Proficiency in English language, communication skills, teamwork, Computer Operation - including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Knowledge of US Government functioning, rules & regulations, and Policies;
  • Organizational skills to plan promotional events;
  • Keenness to learn and willingness to work hard

      Work Profile

  • Preparing of reports including daily, monthly and bi-monthly reports
  • Timely handling of all trade related queries
  • Maintaining database of Indian/US importers/exporters
  • GSP-Monitoring, reporting, submission of replies, follow up, etc.
  • Collect, update and analyze trade & market data for monthly and bi-monthly reports and updating briefs and Embassy website
  • Monitor Indian investments / acquisitions / mergers in the US and vice versa
  • Disposal of Trade dispute cases
  • Monitor internet resources for trade updates.
  • Market surveys for selected products & trade promotion activities, providing trade related / sector specific inputs for visiting delegations
  • Publicizing and promoting Indian trade fairs through Embassy’s website and local Chambers.  Activities connected with trade shows and promotional meetings
  • Liaison with US companies for meetings as and when required
  • Liaison with USDOC, USTR & other us Government Agencies as required
  • Protocol duties with visiting delegations
  • Any other duties assigned from time to time

Initial Pay: US$ 3120 p.m. + 75 p.m. (towards medical insurance premium).
Age: between 20 - 35

 

Junior Clerk

      Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree with sound knowledge of computers, especially MS Office;
  • Desirable to have sound knowledge of accounting procedures, bank reconciliation, budgeting, etc. and desirable basic knowledge of administration and accounts related work;
  • Willingness to perform outdoor work including beyond regular hours;
  • Proficiency in English;

Initial Pay: US$ 2886 p.m. + 75 p.m. (towards medical insurance premium)
Age: between 20 - 35

 

Handyman

     Requirements:

  • Skills and experience to carry out the following on a regular basis at Embassy:
  • Electrical – Repair and maintenance of electrical gadgets, troubleshooting all electrical problems, repair and replacement of light fixtures and cables.
  • Plumbing – Carry out repairs and replacements of faucets, cistern tanks, bathroom fittings.  Should be able to carry our minor repairs of plumbing system in the Embassy buildings and residences.
  • Carpentry – Carry minor repairs of furniture, doors and window fittings, assembly of new furniture, all other works related to carpentry.
  • HVAC system- Trouble shooting of HVAC system in Embassy Buildings and Residences.

Initial Pay: US$ 3120 p.m. + 75 p.m. (towards medical insurance premium).
Age: between 20 – 35

 

Chauffeur

      Essential Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 pass or above.
  • Should be fluent in speaking English

      Requirements:

  • The candidate should possess a valid driver’s license and desirable to possess experience of driving in DC Metropolitan Area.
  • Selection will be done on the basis of personal interview and road skill test.

Age: between 20 – 35
