Advisory for Indian Nationals in USA – COVID 19 (Update:15 April 2020)

According to the latest travel advisory issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, all scheduled international commercial passenger services to India shall remain suspended till 11:59 PM (IST) of 03 May 2020. In addition, all domestic passenger flights within Indiaare also suspended until 3 May 2020. This action has been taken in the interest of public health and safety of all Indian citizens. In view of these temporary travel restrictions, all Indian nationals are advised to:

1.Stay safe and self-isolated within the residential premises and follow the advisories updated on CDC web site https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/and other state and federal advisories relevant to COVID-19.

2.Please visit the website of Press Information Bureau, Government of India, at https://pib.gov.in/newsite/pmreleases.aspx?mincode=31for up-to-date information on COVID-19 situation in India.

III.      Please follow social distancing norms and avoid any non-essential local travel.

  1. If you or your family member(s) have any of the symptoms mentioned in the CDC website https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/, please self-isolate for a minimum of 14 days and approach the local health department officials, and reach out to your healthcare provider.
  2. Please continue to monitor official channels, including www.indianembassyusa.gov.in and the websites of your local Consulates in the US, to receive the most up-to-date information, including about flights/travel related information.
  3. For extension of visa in the US during this restriction period, please apply online at  USCIS websitehttps://www.uscis.gov/visit-united-states/extend-your-stayand http://uscis.gov/coronavirus.Please visithttps://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/covid-19-delays-extensionchange-status-filings for specific information regarding extensions of status for individuals who are unable to depart as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
