Briefing by the Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs on Foreign Secretary's visit to the US

As you know Foreign Secretary is on his way to Washington. This will be a follow-up round of discussions with officials from the State Department, in particular Mr. Nichloas Burns, to take the next steps on taking the relationship between India and the United States forward in a number of areas which were identified during the recent visit of President George Bush to India. In particular, these areas are Knowledge Initiative on Agriculture, the recommendations of the CEOs Forum on closer economic and business relations between the two countries, the Trilateral Science and Technology Commission and also the civil nuclear energy cooperation understanding between the two countries after the separation plan that India has already provided to the United States. Foreign Secretary will also be speaking at the Heritage Foundation on India-US relations during this visit. He is expected to be back on the weekend.
