The 59th Independence Day was celebrated at the Embassy residence in the morning of August 15, 2005. Ambassador Ronen Sen hoisted the National Flag which was followed by singing of the National Anthem and reading of the Address of the President of India by Ambassador. The celebration was marked by singing of patriotic songs by the local artistes. The celebration came to an end with Ambassador giving away Academic Excellence Award to the Middle School and High School children of the Embassy personnel.

Around 300 persons attended the Independence Day celebration.
