Visit of the All-Party Delegation from India

• The All-Party Delegation from India, led by Hon’ble Member of Parliament Dr. Shashi Tharoor, arrived in New York as part of a diplomatic outreach aimed at projecting India’s united and resolute stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Other members of the delegation include Shri Bhubaneswar Kalita Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Shri Milind Murli Deora Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Shri Shashank Mani Tripathi Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Shri Ganti Harish Madhur Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Amb. (Retd.) Taranjit Singh Sandhu. The visit is part of India’s broader engagement with key international partners, including the United States, to foster global cooperation in addressing terrorism.

• As a mark of solemn remembrance and solidarity, the delegation visited the National September 11 Memorial & Museum and paid tribute to the innocent lives lost in the tragic 9/11 attacks. The delegation honored the memory of the victims and reaffirmed India’s unwavering commitment to the global fight against terrorism and its support for all victims of such inhuman acts.

• The delegation also engaged with prominent think tanks, academic institutions, and members of the media in New York, highlighting the strategic ties between India and the United States and underscored collaborative efforts to tackle the evolving threat of terrorism. The delegation conveyed India’s firm message of zero tolerance and unified national resolve against terrorism.

• This visit is a part of India’s outreach and sustained efforts to engage with global stakeholders and to build consensus on the urgent need for stronger international mechanisms to counter terrorism, disrupt its support networks, and bring perpetrators to justice.
