GLOBAL INDIAN ENTREPRENEURS CONFERENCE
NOVEMBER 12-13, 1998

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). and The Indian Investment Center, Government of India, are jointly organizing, a two day GLOBAL INDIAN ENTREPRENEURS CONFERENCE at Vigyan Bhawan. New Delhi on November 12-13, 1998. This is a follow up of a similar conference held in Singapore in 1996, which was a grand success.

The objective of the November Conference is to further expand economic linkages with overseas Indians who have played an important role in nation building and are destined to make fundamental contributions to the future development of the country. The conference will focus on the steps taken by the current Indian Government to accelerate the economic liberalization process and the special measures initiated to make India an attractive investment destination for overseas Indians. Government of India's Budget for 1998-99 presented to the Indian Parliament last month contains several new initiatives in favor of overseas Indians.

Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, will inaugurate this conference. The other distinguished personalities invited to speak will include the Finance Minister, Commerce Minister, Industry Minister, the Minister of State for External Affairs, Secretaries to the Government of India, Secretaries of State Governments, prominent overseas community and others. This conference will provide a unique opportunity for Indian Americans to interact with Indian policy makers, senior Indian business leaders and overseas Indians from other countries.
