American Pistachio Growers are very appreciative of the Government of India's decision to lower tariffs on pistachio imports. In a meeting with Indian Ambassador Nirupama Rao yesterday, while conveying these sentiments, they also briefed the Ambassador on select aspects of bilateral agricultural trade and outlined various opportunities for further growth including through greater investment and job creation because of possible increase in trade in pistachios.

Ambassador Rao informed the delegation of her Embassy’s commitment to harness opportunities in bilateral trade, including in agricultural goods.  She offered full support to efforts aimed at further promoting trade and investment links between the two countries.
